As part of the three PopBoard project groups “Sustainability”, “Funding Centre” and “Digitality”, five research projects on the respective subjects were developed in 2022 and 2023. The contents of these are now available for free download in the form of handbooks (german language only).
HANDBOOK sustainability in Popmusic
With the handbook on sustainability in pop music, the PopBoard NRW provides a compact reference work for all cultural workers who would like to approach the topic and are looking for practical tips. With a focus on the aspects of ecological sustainability, the handbook offers a collection with references to, among other things, definitions, contact points, tools and guidelines. The document is rounded off with good practice examples from the cultural landscape of North Rhine-Westphalia.
DIGITALITY HANDBOOK
The Digitality Handbook is the result of research into the status quo of digital working in the cultural life of North Rhine-Westphalia. Research was carried out on tools and platforms in the areas of marketing/promotion, recording, networking, (work) organisation, presentation and, last but not least: “Making money in the digital space”.
HANDBOOK OF POPULAR MUSIC FUNDING IN NORTH RHINE-WESTPHALIA
The Handbook of Pop Music Funding in North Rhine-Westphalia is an investigation into the world of federal, state and local funding and is useful for navigating through this jungle. Clearly structured and in short texts, it shows what is aimed at whom and where, and where to find further information and application forms.

Since the publication of ChatGPT in November 2022, events have almost accelerated: more and more offers, tools and software are entering the market. With this AI manual, PopBoard NRW offers help to give those interested an overview, shed light on the jungle of offers and encourage further employment.
STATUS QUO AI IN MUSIC
Status Quo AI takes stock of the development of AI in music in recent years and gives a compact overview of the different types of AI as well as their advantages and disadvantages in relation to music.
