15:00 – 16:30 | TikTok for musicians with Steffen Geldner

Brief description

TikTok has been one of the most important tools in the digital marketing mix of artists and labels for some time now: 80% of the tracks in the Spotify Viral Charts are almost exclusively influenced by the platform and its strong connection to music. In German-speaking countries, users from the music industry are still cautious and the platform is polarizing, but all musical niches and age groups are now successfully represented on TikTok. In this workshop, Steffen Geldner introduces TikTok as a marketing tool for musicians. Digital self-marketing has changed fundamentally in recent years. While it used to be possible to grow quickly and organically through good content, the marketing of music content has become much more complex due to algorithm- and data-driven platforms. TikTok (still) has the opportunity to grow quickly organically and without the use of large budgets. After an introduction to the TikTok algorithm, Steffen goes into the connection between TikTok and music and talks about the sounds and artist page, playlists and targeting, among other things. In this workshop, participants will also be taught in a practical way which content currently works best on TikTok and how it can be used most effectively. Increasing reach, hashtags and analytics are also part of this workshop. An essential part of the lecture consists of the presentation of best practices from various musical niches. The workshop ends with a walkthrough of the TikTok Ads Manager.

Together with Kim Hoss, he published the podcast “So ist das Leben”.

15:00 – 18:30, “MIDI control” with Felix Weis

Brief description

The workshop covers the theoretical basics of Midi, areas of application, signal flows and the structure of a control system (PC, iPad, interface). There will also be practical insights into existing projects and programming demonstrations using examples.

Felix Weis

Felix Weis’ musical career began at the age of 15 as a singer in a trash metal band. Since then he has played in several bands of different styles as a singer and/or guitarist. Started learning and applying audio production in 2012. With the appearance of the Kemper amp in 2012, he finally began to deal with the topic of midi control in order to get his feet free on stage as a singer and guitarist of WalzWerk.

17:00 – 19:00 “Music production/composition and beatmaking with AI” with Tommy Finke

Description

Tommy Finke shows current AI tools for music production and composition and how you can still create songs, beats and compositions organically and humanely, how you can use them to make your mixes sound better and how you can overcome musical writer’s block in dialog with the AI tools. The future is now but can we handle it?
