Workshop and advice on barrier-free event planning & inclusive cultural work in pop culture

In cooperation with the Barrier-free Celebrations Initiative we are launching a workshop and advisory service in May on the subject of barrier-free event planning and inclusive cultural work for pop culture stakeholders from NRW.

Online workshop on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, 2-6 p.m.

In the cross-thematic workshop “Barrier-free event planning & inclusive cultural work”, the speakers convey the basics of barrier-free event planning and show in a practice-oriented way how cultural offerings can also be made accessible for people with physical, sensory and mental impairments.

Why are people with disabilities experts in their own right? What is the difference between inclusion and accessibility? When exactly is an event barrier-free? What legal principles need to be observed? What do visitors with disabilities want? And what does it cost to implement accessibility measures?

The experts pursue these and other questions and, with personal and multi-perspective anecdotes, provide an insight into the reality of life for people with disabilities who demand a self-determined life and cultural participation for all.

You can register for the workshop free of charge via the following link:
